Atbilde, vai vismaz viens no atbildes variantiem par lata nedevalvēšanu, ir atrodams The Wall Street Journal publikācijā par Starptautiskā Valūtas Fonda politikas izmaiņām pēdējās krīzes ietekmē.

Izrādās, latu nedevalvēja tāpēc, lai mēs varētu atmaksāt savu parādu Rietumeiropas bankām – SVF ieteica devalvēt, taču ES un ECB bija pret. No sevis varu piemetināt, ka mums nav ne zelta un dimanta raktuvju, ne kakao plantāciju, pat ne daudz čaklu cilvēku, ar kuru palīdzību šo parādu varētu segt.
